The NYC Instagram Scavenger Hunt? Good times….
Recently, lots of NYC Instagrammers…from rock stars like Anton Kawasaki (@Anton_in_NYC) to relative newbies, came out in force for our 2nd Scavenger Hunt! Mother Nature even cooperated, providing the eager teams with an unseasonably balmy November day. Tasks included everything from getting a pre-teen to flip the bird….to licking a subway pole (whoa!). “Saying it was fun isn’t enough. It’s hard to explain how enjoyable it is to explore New York City with three new friends, ask locals and tourists to act out scenes, and tap our individual knowledge of the city to complete the items on the list”, said Brian DiFeo, who co-organized the event with Kawasaki. Today: InstaLunchNYC Photowalk @ 1pm!
TODAY’S THE DAY! InstaLunchNYC photowalk hosted by @Jacelinda and @LolitaLens. Meet at Bryant Park (corner of 42nd and 6th) at 1pm, and spend your lunch break meeting Instagrammers (we’re a friendly bunch), as we walk around taking photos. Make new friends…catch up with old ones…learn new techniques. If you’re off for Veteran’s Day…even better!

#Instameet NYC!
The Worldwide Instameet is tomorrow! This is what you need to know:
- The Meetup starts at 6:30pm with drinks & gallery show, then presentations at 7pm by Stickygram & Inkstagram, 2 iPhoneographers (@JohndeGuzman & @Leifography), and then a panel discussion on photojournalism.
- We have a space reserved for 9pm drinks at Madame X bar, 94 West Houston Street, downstairs (RSVP). We hope you can make it!
- There is no food at the Meetup, if you are hungry there is a pizza place (sit-down) next to the bar.
6 Days til Instameet!
Our next Meetup on Oct 26 coincides with Instagram’s Worldwide Instameet! We’ve put together a really exciting workshop with demos, presentations, and a panel discussion. But first we want to thank our partners: Inkstagram, the best web interface for Instagram, who is covering the rent for the event, and Stickygram, who is providing Instagram NYC magnets for all attendees! Workshop Schedule: 6:30-7:15pm: Drinks and mingling in the gallery 7:15-7:30pm: Welcome and demos by our parters, Inkstagram and Stickygram 7:30-8pm: Instagram workshop presentations by 2 NYC iPhoneographers: 8-8:30pm: Photojournalism Panel Discussion, with the case study of “Occupy Wall Street.” Panelists are Rich Nacin (@richnyc), Lolita Beckwith (@lolitalens), Giovanni Savino (@magneticart), and John Rey Tecson (@rottenronin).
